Just want to say a huge thank you again for hosting our students, they had such a good time. A student has come back to school a changed student, he was really inspired.
Millbay Academy, Plymouth – Employability Programme
One of the learners had very poor attendance and low aspirations. They completed the 13-week L1 Award, studying x3 Employability Skills units and x2 Vocational units (Sports Leaders and Construction). Following the course he has now become pro-active, gained a part-time Construction job and has sorted a Work Experience placement in Construction for the summer.
Another learner has improved his confidence and confidence. He now has a clear pathway into Sports Coaching, which is his passion.

Penair School – Prepare to Earn – L1 Award in Vocational Studies
A learner who had not attended school for more than 2 years attended our Employability Skills sessions. This was completed outside the school environment, as the cohort did not feel comfortable in school. The learner had 100% attendance on the course, grew in confidence and following the course was put forward by CMA to have a once in a lifetime experience at the Falmouth Tall Ships 2023 event. The learner completed a 5-day Sailing experience, which further developed his confidence and overall character. The learner is currently studying at Falmouth Marine School and has applied for a job in the RFA.
Penryn College – 10 Non-Accredited Employability Skills Sessions
The sessions have made a real difference to our students. I've seen all of them grow in terms of their confidence and ability to look at themselves, their skills and their understanding in the key elements which make up an effective candidate for the world of work: identifying their skills, completing applications, where to look for opportunities and interview skills.

Poltair School – 10 Non-Accredited Employability Skills Sessions
The learners on the course have developed confidence, become more organised, understand the job market and career pathways, have increased ambitions and are on their way to gaining the accredited qualification. Learners have been exposed to employers, site tours, Marine wildlife and more. This has given them more confidence speaking to adults and potential employers.
Penwith (Wave Academy) – Prepare to Earn – L1 Award in Vocational Studies
The learners are halfway through the 10-week course and have developed crucial transferable skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving. Learners have completed an employer site visit around Sustainability, which will support their learning when studying the Sustainability unit.
Nine Maidens (Wave Academy) – Prepare to Earn – L1 Award in Vocational Studies
CMA worked with 10 learners over 10-weeks where learners developed their employment knowledge and Construction skills. CMA supported the group with CVs, Interview Skills, Workplace Contracts, Risk Assessments, Health and Wellbeing, understanding their own skills and more. All learners progressed from the course and went on to further education, work or started an Apprenticeship.
Helston Community College (Sixth Form) – 10 Non-Accredited Employability Skills Sessions
A specific learner who spoke Pashto (an Arabic Dialect) and no English was able to access the CMA provision. The tutors translated the work booklets from English to Pashto to ensure the learner could follow the course at their own pace.
With both English and Pashto languages being used for the work booklet, the learner was able to access the course, progress their English skills and develop their confidence in the classroom environment.
