Marine Ambassadors from across the county have visited more than 35 local schools to raise awareness of opportunities within the Marine sector.

What will you be doing?

Marine Ambassadors help and enlighten Young People who are looking for information in the Marine sector

Often, young people looking for jobs and/ or training are not aware of the opportunities the local Marine sector has to offer. You will be involved in raising awareness of the Cornish Marine sector, promoting your organisation, and giving insight into your job role and the journey you took to get there. You’ll help young people understand the skills and training needed to perform your role, and raise their understanding to get involved.

The benefits for you

Inspire young people to join your business, gain publicity and enjoy free support, training and guidance to perform your role

There are many benefits to becoming a Marine Ambassador; you’ll be increasing your understanding of young people’s capabilities, skills and aspirations, improving the employability opportunities of the future Marine sector workforce and aiding your own personal and professional development.

You’ll also have the use of the CMA Ambassador logo and resources, including your own bespoke business profile (which we will publicise on the CMA website and social media). It doesn’t end there either – you’ll get free support, guidance and training to perform the role and access to other potential opportunities; either voluntary/ paid, apprenticeships, training or attracting future investment into your business.

Don't be afraid to reach out to organisations - just because they don't advertise Apprenticeships or volunteering opportunities, doesn't mean they might not be able to provide it.

What do you need

If you're interested in becoming a Marine Ambassador then we'd love to hear from you. There are just a few things we need...

The first thing we need from you is for you to work in or be involved with the Marine sector. We’ll also need you to be able to communicate your job role and experiences, as well as be able to volunteer some of your time to support school visits, visits to your workplace and any possible meaningful work experience you could offer.

If this sounds like you and your business, we’d love to talk to you about becoming an ambassador!
