The Challenges

What challenges did you face?

I originally contacted a different company in regard to work experience opportunities to help get me into a career and then was referred to CMA for support.

The Action

What action did you take?

As a result of making contact with CMA, I received a huge amount of support in the time I was speaking to Joe. He was able to overhaul my CV and refine my portfolio to make sure I have the best chance when I apply for future opportunities. He also arranged meetings with Concepts Yachts and Cockwells to talk about the industry and how I can maximise my potential.

The Difference

What difference has this made?

It has made a huge difference so far. I now have some experience in the industry alongside a professional CV and portfolio. Future Plans; Currently, I am trying to work for VanDam Boats in America so the next step would be contacting them about the experience I’ve had over the past few months. Hopefully this will put me in a good position where I’ve gained sufficient experience and knowledge to work for them. As well as this I’m continuing to learn CAD software in my spare time to broaden my portfolio so I have the best chance when I apply for future jobs.

What would you say about your experience?

After all the support Joe has provided, I cannot recommend this enough to other people in my position. When I told him what I career path I wanted to take he went above and beyond to provide key opportunities and guidance that will be a massive help down the line and I cannot thank him enough for this.
