Jack had completed his Degree and was looking at the next step in his career.

The Challenges

What challenges did you face?

After finishing his Degree the previous year in Game and Interactive Media Design at Falmouth University, Jack started looking at the next step in his career. He quickly realised how difficult of a task it would be to progress, due to the current economic climate as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Action

What action did you take?

CMA’s Employability Skills Tutor (Joe) was able to help Jack improve a number of Employability Skills such as his CV and written applications, success at interviews as well as building his emotional resilience in the workplace. Alongside this, Jack was getting 1-2-1 support with job searching and started to apply for jobs in IT and Gaming.

The Difference

What difference has this made?

As a result of the hard work Jack has put in over the summer of 2021, Jack showed a greater sense of belief in his own skills. Due to this, he applied for a role at Falmouth University to become an Associate Lecturer in Games Design and was successful in securing employment.
