The Challenges

What challenges did you face?

Initially I tried a number of job roles, but struggled to find a job in the Marine sector relating to my prior education, whilst also facing unemployment due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Action

What action did you take?

Through CMA, I spoke to an employer in Saltash who was looking for a young person to support their business. I arranged an interview with them, was successful and offered a conditional offer of a three-month contract thanks to the support of the CMA team.

The Difference

What difference has this made?

I outperformed my employees expectations and have been offered a six-month contract with the potential of it being extended. As a result, I have been successfully signed off of Game Changer, and went from being unemployed into employment.

“I was supported to create a CV, whilst CMA created opportunities for me to meet CMA ambassadors online, whilst the country was in a National lockdown!”
